Water / Sewer Plant
The City’s water supply source is from wells and also from treated lake water. The City water is chlorinated and tested on a regular basis for quality assurance, as required by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment. The City’s Annual Drinking Water Quality Report is available here, or from the City Office located at 301 E. Washington Street.
The consumers within the corporate city limits shall pay monthly charges and rates for water furnished by the City, by water meter measurements, to the city clerk's office as follows: For all meters less than two inches in size, a minimum charge of $28.98 per month for use of up to 200 cubic feet of water per month, and an additional charge of $2.63 per hundred cubic feet of water used in excess of 200 cubic feet per month. For meters which are two and three inches in size, a minimum charge of $34.46 per month for use of up to 200 cubic feet of water per month, and an additional charge of $2.63 per hundred cubic feet of water used in excess of 200 cubic feet per month.
Customers receiving water service at locations outside the corporate city limits of the City shall pay monthly charges and rates for water as follows: A minimum charge of $44.33 per month for use of up to 200 cubic feet of water per month, and an additional charge of $2.63 per 100 cubic feet of water used in excess of 200 cubic feet per month.
Consumers hauling water in bulk containers shall pay at a rate of $18.75 per 1,000 gallons.
The City’s sewer charge, which is based on a winter average water usage recorded during the months of December, January, February, March and April, is as follows:

Consumers hauling water in bulk containers shall pay at a rate of $18.75 per 1,000 gallons.
Sewer Charge
The City’s sewer charge, which is based on a winter average water usage recorded during the months of December, January, February, March and April, is as follows:
- Inside the City: Minimum Service Charge for usage not in excess of 200 cubic feet/month is $22.26 per month; User Charge is $2.56 per each additional 100 cubic feet/month.
- Outside the City: Minimum Service Charge for usage not in excess of 200 cubic feet/month is $44.51 per month; User Charge is $2.56 per each additional 100 cubic feet/month.
